Born and raised on Long Island, Janine A. Barbera studied Business Marketing and minored in Journalism at Hofstra University after graduating from Brentwood Sonderling High School. Ms. Barbera received her JD from St. John's University in 1986.
In January of 1996, Ms. Barbera opened her own Law Practice with partner James McElhone to form Barbera & McElhone PC in Miller Place New York.
Janine A. Barbera, Esq. has been in practice for over 23 years. Her practice is concentrated in Matrimonial Law, Family Law, Real Estate and Adoptions.
Ms. Barbera has been an adjunct Professor of Paralegal Studies at New York Institute of Technology and is a licensed instructor of New York Real Estate Sales and Brokers Courses.
Ms. Barbera is a member of the New York Bar Association, Suffolk County Bar Association, The Woman's Bar Association and the Divorce Mediation Association.
